You will be joining an established team, working to build machine learning products that are fundamentally changing the way insurers see the world, enabling them to move from an assumption based understanding of risk, to an empirical, data-driven view.
What working as a Sales Executive at Cytora looks like:
The Sales function at Cytora has principal responsibility for originating leads and opportunities from our prospect universe, typically; Insurers, MGAs and Brokers. Each opportunity in the Cytora Sales pipeline is managed by a Sales team member, working in close collaboration with relevant technical support from Product, Engineering and Integration colleagues. Ultimate responsibility for progressing opportunities and reporting revenue sits with the Sales team member.
You will be researching the lead’s organisation, identifying key stakeholders and early adopters who will be fundamental in the success of the deal. Our offering is extremely focused, and you will be responsible for understanding the lead’s business needs and ensuring alignment. The Sales function has aggressive growth targets and individual Sales Executives can expect to be measured on metrics relating to activity (new engagements initiated, opportunity advancement etc) and revenue generation (Weighted Pipeline and Closed Annual Recurring Revenue).
Sales Execs can expect to have full involvement in market engagement activity, including close feedback loops to both Marketing and Product. It is essential that Sales Execs are open to cross functional collaboration in order to achieve Company goals.
What you will achieve in the first 3 months:
Cytora has an established on-boarding process company wide, so Sales Execs can expect to have at least 30 mins 1:1 induction time with Team Leaders from all functions within the first two weeks of joining the business. It is essential that successful candidates are prepared for a steep learning curve in order to assist the Sales function and broader Company achieve goals.
New Sales Execs can expect focused development time with the Head of the Sales function, with freedom to pick topics of focus. The team environment is close-knit, with all team members aware of what each other are working on, allowing for cross-pollination of ideas and knowledge sharing. 1:1 time for personal focus is flexible depending on individual preferences, but this time is respected and maintained as a priority.
What we are looking for in candidates:
You will be somebody who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, a self-starter who can build process and proactively identify areas of process improvement and revenue growth. You will have the creativity and communication skills to sell in a nascent product category, securing buy in from key stakeholders and C-Suite executives. You will need to be able to understand technical language and concepts internally but effectively communicate this to prospective in industry terms with a focus on business value.
To succeed in this role, you will need to be a problem solver, entrepreneurial, new revenue focused and will ideally have consultative solution sales experience. I.e. revenue generation linked to a non-tangible product, that requires deep understanding of buyer needs.
- 2+ years solution sales experience, personally leading and closing complex deals with B2B enterprise customers.
- A direct background in Property & Casualty Insurance, or some experience of positioning solutions or products into this market,
- Ability to work across teams in startup environment (i.e. without structure initially)
- Comprehension of “Strategic selling”, “Solution sales”, “Challenger sales” i.e. complex B2B long sales cycle, managing and growing relationships at C-suite level
- Consistent top performer, exceeding targets.
